Dysport is prescription only medicine and is a muscle relaxant produced by Clostridium botulinum bacteria. It acts on the junctions between the nerves and muscles, preventing the release of one of the chemical messengers called acetylcholine from the nerve endings that would normally cause the muscle to contract. If the messenger is prevented from being released this results in a weakened muscle and helps to reduce some of the abnormal muscle contractions.

Dysport® temporarily improves the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the eyebrows (the glabella), as well as crow’s feet and forehead lines.

Dysport® is a neurotoxin – it blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscles, which helps keep the muscles from contracting and creating frown lines.

Key Features:
Can be used in the treatment of severe primary hyperhidrosis of the axillae, which does not respond to topical treatment with antiperspirants or antihidrotics
It relaxes and limits the movement of muscles around the injection site as per other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins.

Contraindications of Dysport:
Known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Generalised disorders of muscle activity (e.g. myasthenia gravis, Lambert- Eaton syndrome) (as per other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins).
Infection or inflammation at the proposed injection site (As per other Clostridium botulinum type A toxins).
